Description Entrants must be of black, Asian minority ethnic background. Each submission must contain a full short story, to be no more than 6,000 words. Only one entry allowed per person. Entrants must live in the UK & IRELAND and be at least 18 years of age. Entrants must not at the time of entering or when the winner is chosen be represented by a literary agent or under a publishing contract. The winner will receive £1,000, and their story will be published on the Guardian website. The winner will also receive a one day 4th Estate workshop with Editorial, Publicity and Marketing.
